Marit-Solveig Seidenkrantz stepping down as CP editor

12 May 2025

During the festive celebration of the 20th anniversary of Climate of the Past (CP) at the EGU General Assembly 2025, Marit-Solveig Seidenkrantz announced to the editorial board that she was stepping down as both co-editor-in-chief and regular editor due to new responsibilities at the Aaarhus University. While this is a well-deserved promotion for her, it is sad news for CP, as Marit-Solveig has been an active co-editor-in-chief since 2017, when she replaced Nerilie Abram. On behalf of the CP community, we are grateful to Marit-Solveig for her friendship and strong commitment to making CP the leader that it is currently acknowledged to be.

Appointed by the EGU council, Luke Skinner will take over from Marit-Solveig, allowing us to continue the strategy of having editors who represent the terrestrial, marine, ice, and modelling communities.
